A message from our new Chair

From the Chair
To think nearly 30 years ago (summer 1996) sitting in church listening as you should do ‘ Our Scout Group ‘ 42nd Chester which meet in the hall, is starting Beavers in the Autumn and would like help.
I wrestled for a reason not to help and a light blub moment. I could do that.
October ( I think 6th) 1996 (party next year) we opened the beaver colony with about 15 boys , over the years the colony grew so fast we had to open a second group running back to back in 2009, as I got older we decided to split to Wednesday and Thursday, this still continues, I felt after nearly 29 years time for me to step down.
Now I’m back, I felt so privileged to be asked by the GVL Steve to become the next group Chairperson how could I say no , I couldn’t,
Thankfully I was voted on last Wednesday,
Firstly a huge thank you to all the leaders who have worked so hard with the young people week in week out, thank you to you all.
I’m still the same person with a 100% commitment to the group, I have an open door policy and encourage ongoing communication with all parents and volunteers at all times.
I’m looking forward to my next challenge, and hopefully you will follow all the way to enable us to give every member in the group, empowered, commitment and FUN / to provide skills for life, in this greatest adventure in the world: SCOUTING
